On 6 December 2011, as part of Coastcare Week, Professors Bruce Thom and Jan McDonald each presented a lecture at an event titled Coastal Conversations: how will climate change affect our coasts? Their presentations are available for download.

A group of NRM practitioners and ‘care’ group volunteers recently spent a morning together to exchange ideas and hear about some best-practice community projects happening around the region.
Guest speaker at the forum, Wendy Minato, gave a fantastic presentation on findings from her PhD research into the role of social norms and their influence on land management practices in a small rural community in Victoria.
Other presentations included an overview of the “adopt a shoreline” project, the Nature Nub website (see Get Involved for more information about this project), Tasmanian Landcare Association’s Extra Hands program and a coastal shorebird protection project happening on the East coast.
