Feral, stray and domestic cats on Bruny Island prey on small mammals and birds. In partnership with Biosecurity Tasmania, Kingborough Council, weetapoona Aboriginal Corp, Ten Lives Cat Centre and Bruny Farming, this project will work to control feral cats (and trial the most effective way to do it). Initially focused on Eastern quolls, this project will ultimately benefit many native species and will involve community education about domestic cat management. This model can then be applied to reduce the impact on wildlife elsewhere.
